War on Everyone (2016)

War on Everyone is the pitch-black buddy-cop comedy from writer-director John Michael McDonagh (The Guard, Calvary), set and filmed entirely in Albuquerque. Alexander Skarsgård and Michael Peña star as two thoroughly corrupt cops who blackmail and extort criminals for a living, until they cross paths with someone far more dangerous than they are — co-starring Theo James and Tessa Thompson.

The film premiered in the Panorama section of the Berlin International Film Festival before its U.S. premiere at SXSW, with Saban Films picking up North American distribution. halflife* provided dailies on the production. Critics were split on the film's gleefully irreverent tone, but Skarsgård and Peña's chemistry drew consistent praise — another example of the range of genre and tone halflife*'s New Mexico dailies work has covered, from network medical dramas to R-rated buddy-cop comedies.
