The Odd Way Home (2013)

The Odd Way Home is a road-trip drama filmed on location across New Mexico's high desert, following Maya (Rumer Willis), a young woman fleeing an abusive relationship, and Duncan (Chris Marquette), an autistic young man she unexpectedly crosses paths with. What begins as a chance encounter becomes a journey that redefines what family means for both of them. The film also stars Brendan Sexton III and Veronica Cartwright, and premiered at the 2013 Austin Film Festival before release through Breaking Glass Pictures.
